Description
This course covers those skills needed for success in Calculus and many application areas on a baccalaureate level. Topics include the real and complex number systems, polynomials, exponents, radicals, solving equations and inequalities (linear and nonlinear), relations and functions, systems of equations and inequalities (linear and nonlinear), matrices, graphing, conic sections, sequences and series, combinatories, and the binomial theorem.

Goals
1.This course outcome summary includes competencies and performance standards for College Algebra with Applications. This course is part of the General Studies Core offered throughout the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). The course competencies are consistent among the colleges and are at baccalaureate level to accommodate student success in transfer to four-year colleges.

Prerequisites
1.Intermediate Algebra (Minimum Grade: C) OR
2.Two years of High School Algebra (Minimum Grade: C), one year of High School Geometry
(Minimum Grade: C), and a satisfactory placement test score.
