Objective 3: Write an expression for the perimeter of a given shape

• Remember:

o Perimeter = L + L + W + W

Objective 4: Subtract polynomials in one variable

• To subtract polynomials :

o  Change the operation symbol as an equivalent addition statement

▪ Change the operation symbol from a minus sign to a plus sign
▪ Change all the signs in the second polynomial to their additive inverses

o Combine like terms

• (2x + 3) – (7x – 2)
