The Problem

Write an equation of the line in slope-intercept form that has a slope of 2 and passes through the point (3,1)

Answer provided by our tutors

we have been given that the slope m = 2 and passes through the point (3, 1)

we know that slope intercept form as

y = mx + b

by putting the given values of slope, x and y, we will find the y intercept i.e. the value of b

1 = 2*3 + b

b = -5

so, the equation of slope intercept form will be

y = 2x - 5

Hope this will help you!
