solving linear equations with exponents

I'm getting really bored in my math class. It's solving linear equations with exponents , but we're covering higher grade syllabus. The topics are really complicated and that’s why I usually doze off in the class. I like the subject and don’t want to drop it, but I have a real problem understanding it. Can someone help me?

What exactly are your difficulties with solving linear equations with exponents ? Can you give some more details. I remember that recently I too had to go through a similar period of unease. In my instance, my desperate search led me to a teacher in my vicinity. But he was so engaged that he just did not have the time for me.
